CTIA Wireless 2006, LAS VEGAS, NV - Symbian Ltd. today announced that 12 partner companies are exhibiting their latest technologies and services for Symbian OS™ at its booth, # 4217, Hall N3, at CTIA Wireless 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Partner demonstrations will take place throughout the show.

 


Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the leading open operating system for advanced, data-enabled mobile phones also known as smartphones, to the world’s largest handset manufacturers. In 2005, 34 million Symbian OS mobile phones were sold worldwide to over 250 network operators, bringing the total number of Symbian OS phones shipped to almost 60 million.

  Global Wireless Networks is demonstrating their mobile request application for traders who receive information from broker networks. This application provides users with trade details at the broker’s terminal and demonstrates how investment portfolios can be tracked using a scrolling ticker on a phone. Other components of the software enable placement of trades from a mobile phone, access to account balance details with quotes and confirmations of trades.
